The Property Institute (TPI) which was previously known as IRPM is the leading professional body for Individual Residential Property Management Professionals. Providing learning and qualifications to members who serve the private, social, build-to-rent and retirement sectors.

TPI’s mission is to raise standards in the management of residential property in the UK and provide individuals with independent professional accreditation. TPI is not a trade body.

The Institute’s key objectives are to:

  • Raise standards in the residential property management sector
  • Provide individuals with independent accreditation of their professional skills
  • Assist practitioners in assessing job applicant capabilities

Property Redress Scheme

The PRS is one of three consumer redress schemes authorised by the government whose role it is to provide fair and reasonable resolutions to disputes between members of the public and property agents. By law, all Agents, as defined by legislation, must be a member of one of these three schemes.

RICS

‘Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors’ set and regulate standards of conduct and include the RICS Rules of Conduct.   A number of related mandatory standards which set out the RICS requirements across all disciplines, with respect to competence, ethical conduct, service standards and consumer protection. Standards of conduct apply to all professional members and RICS regulated firms.
